Each month we’ll be introducing you to different members of our power protection team here at Riello UPS.
This month, it’s the turn of corporate sales engineer, Craig.
What do you do at Riello? I am Sales Engineer and work internally, working predominantly on our 3 phase and projects channel.
Why do you like working at Riello? Riello has a great working environment. Everyone is really friendly and it is an enjoyable and dynamic place to work with no two days being the same.
How would your work colleagues describe you? I hope they would say I was hard working, friendly and approachable.
What advice would you give to someone about choosing the right power solution? Back-up power is critical to many businesses. I would recommend taking the time to fully understand what their requirements are in order to pick the best solution. A solution should last a number of years so it is important to factor in the total cost of ownership over its lifetime and also the aftercare and service provided as part of any maintenance contract.
What has been the most important innovation you have witnessed in your lifetime? The invention and the development of the smart phone. Many people couldn’t live without it now.
What’s your proudest achievement so far, work and personal? Reaching the final of the Chester Dragon Boat Race. It was something that very few people had done before and we were against a number of experienced teams. It was a real team effort in something outside of our comfort zones and we made a lot money for charity also.
Apart from my children, I represented the North of England at schoolboy level at rugby union. As a senior player I represented the Cheshire at under 20s and 1st XV and won the National Championship with both at Twickenham.
Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us: I don’t like to eat lamb which shocks a lot of people here in North Wales.
Do you have a pet? Yes, a cat and 2 guinea pigs
Where did you last go on holiday? I went to Costa Dorada, Spain
What track gets you on the dancefloor? Kenny Rogers – The Gambler
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? Sky Sports – I will watch pretty much any sport going.
