Each month we’ll be introducing you to different members of our power protection team here at Riello UPS.
Name: Scott Jones
What do you do at Riello? I am a business development manager working externally managing our 3 phase accounts and large projects which include electrical contractors, electrical consultants, system integrators and datacentres.
Why do you like working at Riello? Riello really trust their employees and let you get on with the job at hand, the working atmosphere and staff are excellent, you feel part of one big family.
How would your work colleagues describe you? I would like to think they would say hardworking, good technical knowledge and easy to talk to, but you would have to ask them!
What advice would you give to someone about choosing the right power solution? I believe customers really need to understand what is or isn’t a critical load as the additional power of non-essential items soon add up increasing the cost of the UPS, installation and total cost of ownership over the UPS’s life
What has been the most important innovation you have witnessed in your lifetime? The development of the electric car. Whilst this is still early on in its development with the electric range being low this innovation is protecting the planet and hopefully ensuring a prosperous future for my children and generations to come.
What’s your proudest achievement so far, work and personal? On a personal level, my children, I could not imagine my life without them. I am proud of my career at Riello, starting as a young man working internally on small single phase items to working my way up to a successful external Business Development Manager over the last 10 years
Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us: I am not actually fat, it is 100% relaxed muscle!
Do you have a pet? Not at present
Where did you last go on holiday? North Wales to a caravan with the family and yes it did rain all week!
