In the article, our General Manager Leo Craig explains the importance a UPS has in preventing damaging electrical downtime in sports stadia of all different sizes and set-ups. He also outlines why a proactive UPS maintenance regime is essential for all sports groundsmen and facilities managers.
If carried out incorrectly, human error during UPS maintenance can actually be the biggest cause of failure. So Leo sets out some steps to take to ensure UPS maintenance is carried out safely and efficiently. He recommends embracing technological advances such as thermal imaging technologies, which are far more effective than the human hand or eye at detecting potential faults.
Competence is another key criteria to look out for. Indeed, Leo advises always checking whether any UPS engineer about to service a unit is fully-trained and certified.
