New Net Dialog UPS Solves Peripheral Power Puzzle

Protection of file servers in small to medium sized computer networks can leave other peripherals exposed to power problems. Modems, routers and other remote connecting devices must be powered during mains failures and momentary breaks in the electrical supply to prevent network data package damage and keep on-line orders processed. The new Riello Net Dialog UPS solves this issue using its filtering capabilities and PowerShare socket control function.

The new Net Dialog Series of UPS includes 800VA, 1kVA, 1k5VA and 2kVA models using digital Line Interactive (VI) technology. The loads are powered from the mains through an Automatic Voltage Stabiliser (AVR) to stabilise brownout, sag and surge voltages, and EMI filters to suppress spikes and transients. When mains fails, the loads are powered by the inverter with a pseudo sinewave from an internal battery pack.

On the rear of a Net Dialog are RJ45 sockets (input and output). To these the communication cables of local peripherals such as modems or routers can be connected to protect them being damaged by locally generated transients or the type of surge caused by a nearby lightning strike.

Each UPS has four microprocessor controlled IEC style output sockets with PowerShare control. This function splits the sockets into two groups for critical and non-critical loads. All sockets receive stabilised and filtered mains power when mains is present. After a minute on mains failure the non-critical load sockets can be set to disconnect to increase the amount of battery runtime available to power critical loads such as the file server and modem.

Net-Dialog is supplied with the Riello UPS PowerShield² UPS monitoring and control software package (CD-Rom and RS232 cable), and a two year warranty. The standard battery autonomy is 11 minutes.

“Network peripheral management is now a must in any small to medium sized computer network”, commented Robin Koffler, General Manager of Riello Galatrek Ltd. ”Our new Net Dialog helps to solve this issue for network managers, without a price penalty.”

The new range is featured in the NEW Riello catalogue out now. The Net Dialog range starts at £149. Prices are excluding VAT. Sales hotline 0800 269 394 or email sales@riello-ups.co.uk.
